Italian Destination Villa Wedding in Tuscany
Today’s dreamy wedding is courtesy of the mega babes that are Emmeline and Nico, and their Tuscan villa wedding. If I close my eyes I can feel the warmth of the beating Italian sun, and hear the buzz of one of the loveliest groups of people I’ve ever had the fortune to photograph, at one of the most stunning weddings I’ve ever had the fortune to work at. Big words, I know, but there’s big pictures to back that up!
Emmeline is Swedish and Nico is Italian, so their ceremony was a big coming together of different cultures. They decided on Castello di Vincigliata, a medieval castle standing on a rocky hill in Tuscany, opting for a ceremony in a walled garden and a beautiful reception under the festoon lights and stars. They entered their breathtaking ceremony together, where they nailed their vows into a wooden box with the cutest floral hammer I’ve ever seen (and, to be fair, the only hammer I’ve ever seen in a wedding ceremony).
After an Aperol break, we went off for our portraits session. Emmeline and Nico were naturals, looking just as breathtaking as the amazing architecture we were inside! Blessed with a hillside view of Tuscany as well as the gorgeous original features of the villa itself, we got silly, serious, and most of all, some incredible shots. We then rejoined the guests for the reception: I love the shot of Nico taking an iPhone picture of Emmeline in the room when he first saw it! The table plan was suspended from a tree, and tables were laid out in a beautiful courtyard underneath strings and strings of twinkling lights.
Bathed in the most incredible golden glow of the setting sun and all of the lights, guests enjoyed speeches from Nico and Emmeline, and feasted on some dish delish Italian food, including the traditional mille feuille made in front of the guests and served as the cake-cutting. Then the dancing started – the Phly Boyz were phenomenal, getting up on their chairs and getting the crowd going. Fittingly, Emmeline was wearing the a dress called “Voulez-vous danser avec moi?” from Margaux Tardits at The Mews Notting Hill. Even when living it large on the dancefloor, her perfectly waved ponytail looked as fresh as she did – and Nico looked super suave in his white jacket. They are a match made in heaven, and I’m so grateful I was there to be a part of it.
Congratulations Emmeline and Nico!
