Badass Pink Elopement Shoot in Shoreditch
If you’re searching for inspiration for your wedding, you’ll probably see the term ‘styled shoot’ bandied around a lot in blogs and on websites. They’re perfect opportunities for wedding suppliers to get to know each other, flex their creative muscles, and create something truly magical to showcase exactly what they can do. I got the chance to be a part of one last October, organised by the lovely The Wedding Enthusiast and Redamancy Wedding Planning, and I still love the images as much now as I did when editing them!
With the echo and glitter of Las Vegas style elopements in our minds, we set about to do our very own Shoreditch version. As a wedding photographer who loves colour I adore shooting in the streets of Shoreditch – and East London in general – as there are so many incredible backdrops to use for creative wedding portraits. Whether it’s street art, shop shutters or the tiles of an infamous pub, there’s always a backdrop with a story to tell!
We started off getting ready with the wonder that is Amy George creating a soft pink make-up look and Hannah Domney giving Cathleen a super slick city-chic updo. Our ceremony took place in Rich Mix London, which is such a unique venue. It’s an independent arts venue, meaning you can get married in the actual screen itself, with whatever you want playing behind you! It’s also a charity, meaning you’re making a real difference – what’s not to love? Afterwards, we went to a diner-esque setup in Barber and Parlour for our couple to celebrate just the two of them. Charlotte from Redamancy had styled an amazing iridescent pink table setup with shedloads of confetti. After that, we went off to explore the streets of Shoreditch – and we were not disappointed.
Our bride and groom took to the streets armed with matching denim jackets, a gorgeous holographic moon balloon, and the dreamiest textured bouquet by Bloaum. We found the beaut dark green tiles of the Owl and the Pussycat pub; a super cool piece of x-ray street art; a super delicious swirly colourful graffiti mixture, and typography that said “FANATIC” which is fitting, really, as I’m such a fan of this shoot. Even with the sky the colour of toffee – remember that really weird day when there was loads of Saharan dust everywhere across the country? Yep, that was the day we were shooting! – we got a load of dynamic, creative shots perfect for an über-cool and super relaxed couple.
Massive thanks to the team for making it so amazing – check them out if you need any supplier suggestions!
