Vintage Mustangs and Minimal Cool Wedding in Hackney
This blog is fast becoming a love letter to Hackney, but I’m not complaining – North and East London are full of the coolest spaces and the greatest vibes to shoot weddings in. And, of course, it’s usually home to the most amazing couples to shoot with! This was the case of Hilary + Kit, who had a super elegant urban wedding. Their ceremony was at Hackney Town Hall, and the reception was at the beauteous Clapton Country Club; take a look at this belter below.
Hilary wore the stunning Eddie dress by Rime Arodaky from The Mews Bridal in Notting Hill. It was the perfect dress for the day; with an elegant, classic silhouette but super fun plunge and mesh detailing (and believe me when I say that skirt is unbelievably light!) Her bridesmaids wore Rewritten dresses, living up to their motto of ‘Damn Cool Bridesmaids’. After the ceremony in the beautiful wooden-panel-clad room in Hackney Town Hall, we took some portraits in the hallway (those marble floors are the stuff of dreams) before a confetti shot outside.
A vintage red Routemaster came to pick the guests up but Hilary and Kit left in his uncle’s vintage Mustang for their first photos as a married couple! With me in tow, we shot some gorgeous carefree photos on the streets of Hackney, and on the road they live on. We then went for a stroll on Hackney Downs – more brides in sunglasses please! – before making our way to Clapton Country Club.
Their reception was a decor dream, with the utmost attention paid to detail for a minimal style but maximum effort. The tables were long and set out in a feasting style, and the gorgeous stationery was simple and super chic (They even had their own monogram made for their stationery, how cool?!) with a colour palette of whites and greys. July afternoons should always be spent listening to heartfelt speeches in uber gorgeous locations underneath a glittery disco ball, I think…
