Alternative London Wedding in a Bowling Alley
London is full of so many wonderfully characteristic places to get married, and no wedding shows this better than Chris and Grace’s.
They got ready in the stunning and grandiose St Pancras Renaissance Hotel before heading to their ceremony at Islington Town Hall. I know I’ve said this before and I’ll say it ’til I’m blue in the face, but it’s still one of my absolute favourite venues in the capital because just LOOK at that gorgeous hallways for post-ceremony photos! Swooooon. They then hopped on a classic red Routemaster bus to get to their reception location, which was the awesome Bloomsbury Lanes, a bowling alley-come-karaoke-bar-come-guaranteed-good-time. Chris and Grace ticked all the venue boxes!
They had loads of quirky and alternative elements to the day that were absolutely perfect for their personalities, from Grace’s stunning doll-like tea dress, to her beautiful brooch bouquet, to their portraits with their dog after the ceremony. Following group shots in the autumnal gardens outside Bloomsbury Lanes, they feasted on pizza and hot dogs before throwing balls down the alleys and shapes on the dancefloor, all illuminated by giant Mr & Mrs light-up letters from Locke & Busby.
I’ve never heard such enigmatic singing at a wedding as I did in those karaoke booths – everyone was having such a good time it was an absolute honour to photograph. Congratulations Chris and Grace!
